Selections at the end of Liturgy

We have cleaned-up and added some new selections for the ending portion of the Liturgy:

• "Blessed Be the Name..." in Kievan, Obleschuk & Znamenny variations (the Znamenny is modified slightly from St Tikhon's two-part)
• Dismissal in Znamenny variation (modified slightly from St Tikhon's two-part)
• The numbering of the end of liturgy selections has been changed

The Creed - Traditional

Just posted a clean, newly typeset version of The Creed (Traditional) in the Divine Liturgy Music Section.

Beheading of the Forerunner

Festal Music for Vesper & Matins has been added for the Beheading of the Forerunner (August 29)

Transfiguration

Several more corrections to Transfiguration Music:

• Troparion and Kontakion has been reworked - all instances of these have been replaced in both the Vigil & Ligurgy PDFs.
• On page 62 (bottom) - phrase in Praises Glory-Now verse in Vigil has been made easier to sing

Transfiguration Vigil

Posted Transfiguration Vigil corrections:

• All Lord I Call verses have been updated
• All Litya Verses have been updated
• Removed extra "We Praise, Bless..." on Pg 49
• Removed extra Magnification on Pg 52.

Cleanup

All list of PDFs (in dropbox) will now default to "List" format instead of "Tile" formatting to make it easier to see the filenames.

Updates

Forgive me for the long delay in updating the music changes.

We continue to re-generate all existing music on the site for the new "Recitative" formatting where repeated notes are not printed (see previous blog post about this).

We continue to add to the Divine Liturgy & Vespers music as our choir learns new pieces. There are now more complete families of the litanies we use.

Tonight's Matins

I posted an important update for tonight's Bridegroom Matins. The Kontakion melody was incorrect.

Music Change

At the suggestion of an OCA director, I have begun using "Recitative" for long, repetitive phrases, singing the same notes. This will mean less clutter in the music and encourage the choir to sing the phrase more naturally.

A new "family" of Litanies & Dismissals have been added by Obleschuk. See both the Divine Liturgy and Vespers music.

Lenten Changes

• Major rework of most phrasing in the Lenten Liturgy Dismissals Znamenny
• Fix "O Taste and See" errors in the Fixed Portions - Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts

Lenten Dismissals

Under Lenten Triodion - Litanies & Misc Lenten Music: The Znamenny music for Liturgy Dismissals & Dismissals for Vespers & Matins has been "tweaked" for better phrasing.
